GODS OF EGYPT

ANCIENT EGYPTIAN GODS  A-Z
The Ancient Egyptians and pharaohs believed in many gods. In fact, most pharaohs stopped at nothing to ensure their subjects and citizens believed they were divinely appointed, through the gods, to rule over them. This notion was so ingrained into their society that there were gods for almost every aspect of their lives. Many priests ran temples devoted to worship their gods and many pharaohs erected monuments that sponsored their deities.
The Egyptian gods came in many forms that were associated with political power, were great religious icons, or were creatures that were contrived by regular Egyptians to aid them in their ailments. These gods were there answers to the unknown and they were part of the foundation of their ancient culture.
